Gas prices are rising, and there’s no end in sight. Thankfully, you can find the cheapest gas prices in your neighborhood with GasBuddy.
Gasoline prices change frequently and may vary by as much as twenty percent within only a few blocks it is important to be able locate the service station with the lowest priced fuel. GasBuddy web sites allow motorists to share information about low priced fuel with others as well as target the lowest priced stations to save money when filling up at the pumps!
It may seem silly to worry about a few pennies per gallon spent on gasoline, but it’s little frugalities like this that accumulate into long-term savings. For example, gas prices in my neighborhood vary by as much as a dime per gallon. By planning to fuel at the cheapest location, I can save around a dollar per tank. Since I fill up about once a week, that’s a savings of nearly $50 per year. Not a lot, it’s true, but when you add that $50 to money saved elsewhere, it makes a significant difference. (One way to look at it is that by shopping for the cheapest gas prices, you’re freeing up enough money for one telephone bill or one credit card payment per year.)

You can also get yourself a credit card that pays you something back. I get 5% back on my CitiBank MasterCard on all purchases of gasoline, among other things. At over $3 per gallon currently where I am, 15ยข a gallon is a pretty nice discount.
As long as you pay your it off every month, a credit card can be a pretty good tool for getting money back on stuff you’d ordinarily buy anyway.
