The hourly wage in North Carolina is $2.13/hr. As inflation continues to drive prices up, our costs go up (as well as yours). So naturally, the 'preferred' tipping amount will go up. We also have to tip out our front of the house staff, bartenders and occasionally the kitchen. So the fortune everyone thinks we make is divided amongst living expenses and the taxes that are not covered by our hourly wage.
