It takes lots and lots of energy to cool a house or even a room. That homebrew air conditioner is a waste of time and water. I was careful to buy quality brands and windows that were new or only slightly used. Many people ordered the wrong sizes or changed their minds. A couple of the windows needed paint and sheetrock mud scraped off, but it was quite worth it. In the end, I did have to purchase one new window and it alone cost me $160.
