I always hate it when people show up at my work asking for help to find a printer cartridge, and they don't even know what their printer is.

It also pisses me off when people call us (we're a local chain, if not national), and ask me where the location in _______ suburb is. I assume said person got our number from the White Pages, ergo they should go back and look there. The White Pages are delivered FOR FREE in this town. Apparently, if you have a cell phone, you probably don't get the white pages or the yellow pages. All the same, it's not so hard to use the Internet, or go into a public place of business and ask to use their white or yellow pages (most places of business still have landlines, and I honestly don't see that changing anytime soon).

I have no pity for anyone who can't figure out how to either use the low tech white/yellow pages, or look up stuff they want to know online. It's called thinking for yourself.

I understand some information isn't available online, but I find it incredibly hard to believe that our location and directions are part of the selection that's unavailable in either low tech (maps and white/yellow pages!) or high tech (Mapquest! Yahoo! Maps! Google Maps! White Pages! Yellow Pages! Google! Yahoo! MSN Live Search! Dogpile! etc. etc. etc.).

In the tech world, there is the I-D-10-T code (pronounced eye-dee-ten-tee) that we use when describing a bad user. Run everything together, and it looks like ID10T, or idiot.
