He lived a life of frugality and had worked for the local government at a middle-manager level so his salary was never that great. Imagine our suprise when his estate turned out to be worth over $2M! (As a nephew I benefitted a bit but am honored to have benefitted at all--and more honored to have known the man.) It happens! My great uncle passed away recently.
