Good post - this is something that a lot of people just plain ignore doing this. I think a big part of it is because they are scared and think that it will "just happen". I have been reading the book, The Number, and a big portion of it is focused on people's lack of attention to their financial goals and just hoping for some luck that they will be able to retire one day with an amount that will be exactly what they need - with little or no planning. It is simply not going to happen.

JD, I know this blog is about getting rich slowly, but you have the credit and captial to work with to do real estate deals or invest in an internet biz to throw off the amount of cashflow you want to be not only debt free, but financially free by next year. Join the no-job crew!
