Overall, I think that you website and emails are really good. Not all the information that is given is something that I am in need of at that time. I have been very interested in the steps that you have been sharing with all of us. You have given me the want to do something that would be my own business but I just don't have any ideas of what to do. I am interested in doing a home base business but I don't know where to look or where to even start. Things that people need to know is what does it take to start your own business such as; taxes, deductions, where to get help, and other things that every business needs to know to survive. In doing your website, what were the things that you ran into that you didn't know about? List the pro's and con's of it. Show all the work that you put into it. Too often, people just want something that will magically get them rich. The truth is, it take work and time to make a business work. You have impacted a lot of people with your website/blogs, we are interested in learning and growing. Like I said, I enjoy reading the email/website each day. I really want to get to place in time that I am working for myself. I feel that there are others that would like to too. Learning processes, steps, and other requirements and rules will be helpful.

Thanks...

Hello! I've been a passive reader for several months now. Here's my two-cent:

1) "How to save time on top of saving money". ie. A lot of frugality advice refers to DYI methods of doing whatever (cooking, gardening, sowing, etc.) which can be *very* time-consuming - How can we save money AND time? A simple example would be to discuss the benefits to hire a cleaning lady.

2) "How to use online personal assistants": You could better address the use of online personal assistants. I am still waiting for the "4-hour workweek" to arrive at my local library but I'd like to find out more, as well as potential use for this service as suggested by your readers.

3) "Where to find Online personal assistants"? (With testimonies, do's and don'ts).

3) "How to delegate tasks / chores / work" as a general topic.

I really enjoy your website and learn interesting ways to save; but more importantly, learn about being conscious of how and why I am spending my hard-earned money (most important).

Can you incorporate articles/suggestions for folks with alternative lifestyles who operate from a "single" point-of-view?

Thanks!

I figured most people wouldn't agree about ads. Anyone with a blog that is read by other people provides a service to the readers. Sometimes that service is entertainment; sometimes it's advice of some sort. I'm not particularly fond of having my reading habits tracked through advertising cookies nor having my internet browsing slowed down by the loading of ads.

Anyway, as I said, that's just my opinion on how to improve your nice site. I guess most people disagree with that and won't be deterred.

Hi,

I would love to receive more information on daily financial tips. How about some philosophy toward life and money like epirucism (the real philosophy, not the prejudices), minimalism and such.

Statistics and data on financial incentives from banks and such would also be great.

Thanks and keep on bloggin!

Dear Sir,

I've discovered your website recently and it's been an eye-opener to me, very helpful indeed.

About improving your site, well, here's my two cents (and it has to do with the recent post about window car breaking): while I was away in Mexico, working 12 hours a day during 18 months, my main concern was how to put my hard-earned money in a safe place. I suffered breaking and entering twice, so I decided to carry my earnings with me at all times (not very intelligent, but the only thing to do in a town with only one bank & no chances of giving me an account due to being a foreigner).

To sum up my idea: my suggestion to you concerns not how to make money, but to KEEP IT SAFE once you earn it (it includes NOT LOSING IT due to bad decisions too). For example: How to act, react in a foreign country with less or no options (for example, ecological resorts in remote places)? I've been living in this town, completely hopeless by the lack of rules and regulations, so some common sense (and your experience) would've done wonders for my economy :-)

Kudos and keep up the good work!

There are tons of wordpress archive plugins out there..just do a google search. I would point you to some but all of my links are on my computer at home. (I'm at work). Love the site btw and don't feel bad about the ads. Keeping up a website is a very time consuming project!

I was wondering if you had any comments on whether all the credit card/utility bills should be preserved or not? Do they serve any useful purpose or might as well just get rid of them as soon as they are paid for.

I like this site a lot, but I can't stand the format! Everytime I go to the archives or something, it gets complicated. I love the content. The ads are fine with me. You are providing a valuable service to us, why shouldn't you get paid? I click on your Amazon links all the time. :)

I just recently discovered your site and really enjoy reading your articles.
I think it might be helpful to move the categories link higher in your sidebar (a la My Money Blog). It took me a while to figure out where your old articles were.
I agree that a facelift might be helpful--the site looks a little busy which can discourage reading. And when I visit a new site that's too busy, I don't even bother reading the articles.
I think you should keep the ads, because you spend time on your site and deserve to be compensated.
I also don't really understand your header graphic. Is it supposed to be a caterpillar and a metaphor for the process of getting rich slowly? It also sort of looks like a tunnel.
Keep up the great articles.

I like your site immensely, but I'm highly opposed to ads on personal blogs. You're primarily doing this as a hobby, right? I don't think you or most people agree with my way of thinking, but I am disinclined to read personal blogs with ads.

That revision looks very probloggerish. I like it.

I would love to see more giveaways. I would also love to see more about investing details. Not too much detail but something more than "Index funds. Still Sweet!"

I read your articles everyday. I find many to be relevant and helpful. I love this site!

The one thing I am still hoping for, and we talked about this many months ago, is a simple rss feed .xml page I could add to my livejournal page. I read most of my rss feeds on there.

I've considered a facelift, though I'm unsure just what form that would take. A couple of months ago I drafted <a href="http://www.getrichslowly.org/temp/test.html" rel="nofollow">this revision</a> of the site, but I never found time to finish it. I like the idea of the navigation features at the top. I'm certainly open to suggestions on improved layout, etc. Anything that I can do with my Web 1.0 skills, I will. (I'm fond of saying my HTML/CSS skills are "very 1999". It's true.)

A couple of months ago I drafted this revision of the site, but I never found time to finish it. I like the idea of the navigation features at the top. I’m certainly open to suggestions on improved layout, etc. Anything that I can do with my Web 1.0 skills, I will. (I’m fond of saying my HTML/CSS skills are “very 1999″. It’s true.)

I really enjoy the content, but I think that you need to ditch this design and give it a new face. If I wasn't so busy right now with my other committments I would offer to redo the design for free. Maybe in the future or something...Other than that I might run a series on the basics to get some additional traffic. Keep up the good work!

Only thing I can think of is to expand your link section. Possibly also move it to the front page. Might have to remove an item from your right column; perhaps change Featured Entries to a category tag & list it first in Categories?

Other than those, I am very happy with the design of the site, the diversity of content, and your writing! Yours was my first frugality/finance site and I visit it daily.
