[...] November 21, 2006Be the CFO of your own life I blogged the other day on how to be an innovator the other day in order to take advantage of ideas to push your business to the next level and control more of your business future. I read a post today along these same lines but more of a personal finance nature. You can be the CFO of your own life and it will do great things for you. I really like the post which is why I writing about it here.
Great post. Really makes you think about how you can do a better job of tracking expenses and those day to day items that you don't really need but suck the money out of your long term goals.

Great perspective. I have the same frame of mind and same habits, but I never thought to think of myself as the CFO. Love it. For me, however, it's CFO of the household, not CFO of me. My wife might take exception to the "me" part. :)

[...] If you have read Flexo's post "You, Inc.: How to Be the CFO of Your Own Life" at Get Rich Slowly yesterday, you knew what he meant of being the CFO of his own life: managing everything financial himself. Since I started reading posts on Pfblogs.org in August, I noticed from their posts (monthly expenses reports, net worth updates, financial goals, and investment decisions, etc.) that most, if not all, pfloggers are actually in charge of the financial matters around their houses, making them either the CFO of their own, or the CFO of their families (they do share responsibilities with their spouses).
Hey JD!
Another great story. These are, I believe, what makes this blog useful and fascinating at the same time. Personal stories with examples, tools and most importantly *something you can take away*.
I think it's important that you leave the scene/blog entry with something, anything, any tidbit you can use.

Thanks!
