Hi all,

inspired by all this sites, I started a site from Germany. At the moment I am still focusing on gerneral stuff, but I hope to add step by step specific German things about personal finance.

I just stumbled upon all this but seriously started to change things a lot. My girlfriend has been kicking my ass for quite some time and I'm about getting things up and running.

I'm not sure yet, if I'll start a blog on this topic, but if I did, it most probably would be German. I'll announce it here as soon as I start.

I found one german after searching for one hour. Sadly, it seems to be inactive and abandoned. There is also no email given or comments allowed, so I cannot encourage the authors to keep on going. http://konsumfreiheit.wordpress.com

You guys have me on the spot now! I know there are great Canadian and Australian sites because I've read them in the past. But I don't remember which these are. I'll have to sort through my feeds to see what I can find. Actually, from the response to this question, it's apparent that a little detective work might be in order. I may try to put together an entry about "the best financial weblogs in the world" or something to that effect, spotlighting various pfblogs from other countries. It's on the list of things to do!

I found most of the sites out there to be US based. I've recently stumbled upon a few Canadian PF bloggers like myself.

Thankfully a fair amout of US info applies to us.

Anybody know of any Scandinavian personal finance blogs? Most things about saving money is of course universal, but investing and earning is quite different from the US over here. I.e. higher taxes and smaller economies equals less money to invest, more incentive to use tax cuts and "tax planning" and less investment instruments available.

Then again I, as a student, can study anything I get admitted to without having to take any debt for as long as I want. ;) *law/MBA-combostudent with 0 debt* Sorry for showing of :(

I'd also be interested in financial advice sites (if any) for non-US citizens living in the United States. A lot of US financial advice applies to non-citizens, but they don't deal with the possibility of retiring abroad or educating children abroad.

I was doing the same question to me. I am looking for personal finance blogs from Argentina (Thinking in non commercial sites selling "miraculous" plans and without the influence -in a dogmatic way- of people like Kiyosaki, Napoleon Hill, etc., just based in personal or communities experiences).

PS: Sorry, my english is very bad...

To add one more to the UK links: Motley Fool UK is not bad, although (like the US Fool) its focus has somewhat changed from impartial kicking-against-the-system advice to selling tipsheets and advertising. The discussion boards are still excellent and free, however.

(I owe them somewhat of a debt: the Fool was what got me interested in personal finance.)

To add one more to the UK links: Motley Fool UK is not bad, although (like the US Fool) its focus has somewhat changed from impartial kicking-against-the-system advice to selling tipsheets and advertising. The discussion boards are still excellent and free, however.

It's a funny thing, but I've been on the lookout for German money blogs for some time now too. The fact seems to be that the Germans just don't have that much interest in money topics as for example the people in the US have. We don't even have an expression for "personal finance" :-) Over here people still mainly put their money in a savings account, a savings contract for building a house or they buy life insurance - go figure.
You'll find many finance sites, but they're all selling something. I know of absolutely no single money-related blog in the German blogsphere...maybe it's time to start one :-)

Money Saving Expert (http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/) is a great UK site with some good, solid financial informaiton.

There's also This Is Money (http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/) which contains some great consumer advice and some fair comparisons. However, it is run by a number of publishing bodies, so the information may not be 100% unbaised. It's a great starting point though.
