I am doing what, evidently, many before me have done....organizing. However, I limit myself to what I know I can either do myself or at the most bringing on one other person. I do not advertise, I depend on referrals, leaving my business card here and there. It's not lucrative by any means but I've taken a talent and am providing services to others. My main talent in the area of organizing is going into a home pre-estate sale and assisting the family in tossing, keeping, dividing before the estate sale people arrive. My other forte is along the same lines: as people leave their home to move into retirement homes/towns/villages I assist in much the same way as the pre-estate sale and carry it forward to determining what can be used in the future home.
One of these days my website will be out of the "under construction" category and hopefully provide me with more biz.

My roommate and I regularly come up with random ways to make a little extra cash outside of our 9-5 jobs. Not all them we take seriously (gotta have a little fun once in a while and hope that anything can be possible), and most of them never get realized or completed.
But I have managed to keep on of my "hobbies turned money making schemes" alive and thriving... slowly. Stock photography. Online stock photography, specifically. I won't go in to details... actually I will, I'll just email them to you, haha!

Hey JD - great topic! I'm really looking forward to the series. My wife does a great job making money doing stuff she enjoys. Her current project is making unique, one of a kind buttons for people - I'll email you the details.
