Ramit has a poor customer service experience. Stuff like this boggles my mind. In business, and in your personal life, BEING NICE pays dividends. Sure it costs more now, but it pays in the long run.

    Hi JD:

I’m going to disagree with your “being nice pays dividends” comment. When I read the words “being nice”, I am inclined to think of someone that can’t say no and gives in easily, like a doormat. I agree that being considerate, reasonable, and kind pays dividends. However, being nice is terminology that is too soft for me and usually means bad business. In the words of Stephen Covey, go for “win-win” not “win-lose”, “lose-win”, or “lose-lose”.

    JD:

I just noticed two ads that came up courtesy of Goodle on this web page. One is advertising “$20,000 Per Month” and the other is “Lucrative Home Business”. Are these really ads that reflect the philosphy of this blog?

No, no. They’re absolutely not indicative of this site’s philosophy, and I do my best to prevent this sort of crap. But I have no way to approve Google ads. All I can do is add them to the blacklist, which is full. Still, I’ll see if I can replicate these ads, and place them on the list (bumping a couple others out). Sometimes I wish I’d picked a different name for this site. The “get rich” is a magnet for these sorts of ads…
