Hmm... if for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, my location must be the reaction to MikeVx's location. The closest Ben & Jerry's to me is just under 60 miles away - and it doesn't participate!

And from the dumb luck school of location: For work I park in a structure directly across the street from a Ben & Jerrys. I won't even have to drive. And yes, I did check, it is part of the event.

As another former Vermonter, it's worth pointing out that Ben and Jerry's sells pints of seconds for half-price or better in special bins at many general stores in Vermont, all year round. The seconds are still better than pretty much any other ice cream you can buy; it's just sometimes the ice cream in the container is not what's listed on the outside, or a cosmetic issue prevented the ice cream from meeting their high standards.

And speaking of "Free" days, another important free service day is coming up: April 28 is "Free Community Paper Shredding Day" in the United States, courtesy of ShredIt, a commercial shredding service. You can read details and find the nearest location here. This is a great opportunity to take old personal documents that you no longer need and get them shredded for free.

I grew up in Burlington, VT (home of Ben and Jerry’s). Making sure I get my free cone on Free Cone Day is like making sure I vote on Election Day.
