We're dirt poor due to early life decisions (we were teenage parents), and have spent the better part of the last decade just trying to feed and shelter ourselves off of minimum wage jobs. Now with my wife having graduated (she's an ER RN), and myself about two years away from graduating college, there's a light somewhere off in the distance. Recognizing that we have no financial skills - having historically had no finances, and screwing up the little that was there - I've been trying to educate myself on what to do as our income doubles, and then doubles again (we're almost above poverty level!)
