Final Reminder: The Get Rich Slowly Video Contest Ends April 15th!
Published on - April 14th, 2010 (Modified on - April 16th, 2010) (by J.D. Roth) If you have a great money tip or financial success story, you have one more day to enter the Get Rich Slowly video contest! With only 33 entries so far, you have a good chance to win a prize. To enter, just submit a 2-minute video by midnight (Pacific time) tomorrow.
It’s great to see all of the hard work you folks are putting into this. And everyone has a different approach. For example, here are Laura’s tips for staying frugal with a new baby:
And here’s a video from self-described “starving artist” Jackie Daum in which she sings her story:
Now, I don’t expect everyone to write a song about saving or high yield savings accounts, but I’m hoping that more of you will consider sharing your money tips and your success stories with the Get Rich Slowly audience. This is very much a community event, and I look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
Remember that if you enter the video contest, you could win $500 — or a signed copy of Your Money: The Missing Manual. But you only have one day left to do this!
You can view the current contest entries here. For more details, see the announcement post, the contest page, or the official contest rules. If you have questions, drop me a line!

I found both videos informative as I feel it is important for expectant couples to find ways to stretch their dollars as children are such a blessing but also come with much cost.
But between the two, I absolutely adore Jackie Daum’s approach; it was entertaining (excellent vocal talent) it was personalized and it resonated with other daily readers of GRS like myself, who are truly practising and applying the principles J.D. discussed to improve our lives.
Best of Luck To All Of The Contestants!

I would like to enter the contest but do not have anyway to record myself on video, I am not going out to purchase something just to make a two mintue video. Im quite sure I am not alone and there are other readers that feel the same, maybe thats why there are only 33 entries out of over half a million readers ,but maybe when the video contest ends try a tip of the day contest or something else.

Totally agreed with both #2 (the song was awesome!) and #3 (no way I’m going on video).
Besides, since it wasn’t open to Canadians, you knocked out another portion of your potential videos there.

Dang it. I wish I had seen the announcement for the contest. I’m not going to have time to find my camera and make a vid by the deadline. Maybe next time.
