Obviously I was shocked and scared at first, but after settling down, every night when I went to bed would lie there just astounded at how blessed and fortunate we are. I guess I realized that the job loss didn't, and couldn't ever, take away the things that I value. Regarding the caramels, you bought them? Do you know how easy they are to make? I was just telling a friend the other day that the older I get the more content I get. This past year has been the most fulfilling and rewarding year for me. Its just been amazing. The one thing that still alludes me is weight loss. As I write that I realize that it is also the one thing I have the most control over. At 50 years old I have finally built a nice little business which I love, but that business was easier for me to get off the ground than it is for me to lose weight. How weird is that? Both take huge amounts of time and dedication. This year my focus will be on the weight. Im so envious of your good health! But...next year it will be mine. Just see if it isnt! Our income fell in 2010 with my wife staying home to take care of the kids and we had to eat into our savings for some unexpected expenses. With 2 incomes we got used to saving so much I think this year was sort of a let down, I know it affected me more than it should have. But my wife, kids and I are healthy and happy, we have a roof over our head, food on the table and clothes on our backs. The rest is just gravy.
