I've been very pleased with my HSBC Direct account. The sign up process was a little lengthy, but once you get that out of the way, it's great. Online access, electronic transfer, ATM card. It suits all my needs.

Once I paid off my credit cards, I closed a few and left a few open. It's good for your credit score to have some (but not too much) available credit, and I figured that if I ever really needed them I could just open up my little safe and use them. Howdy. I've been reading the blog for about 2 months and it inspired me to finally start really focusing on my finances. I've paid my CC debt down about 70% and I'll be CC debt free by the end of the year!
