Thanks everyone. It's difficult but we're coping. I have been thinking deep thoughts about my finances and our support system. While this was a difficult and terrible situation, we do have a very strong support system. I have friends who have had to deal with this sort of thing all by themselves, so...

Well, I went into pre-term labor, was on bedrest but still lost the baby. He was born alive but died the next day. I don't really have much else to say.

I won't be posting for a while, I can't really focus on our finances. Good luck to everyone on their journey.

Thanks! I am feeling better about how I am spending my money. I think I was paralyzed for a bit. I have a list of things I want and am buying them, but trying not to get side tracked by other things. So far I've purchased: - two fancy new planners for 2012 - one for me and one for my husband. It was...

Thanks! Yes, I emailed them already and asked for a letter - the company emailed back saying I would get it in 45 days.

It is slowly starting to hit me now, but I bet next month will be extra exciting. A whole paycheck with no student loan payments! :)

Thanks to both of you! Y'know, I've also been looking at magazines, I wonder if that was influencing me too? I think I've curbed the shopping tendency for now. I need new warm socks so I am putting in an order for warm, higher quality trouser socks and tights. After making that decision, my shopping...

Just kidding, the Academy has nothing to do with it. I would like to thank y'all though. Your support has truly been tremendous. Both the forum and the website has made this journey both bearable and has been a genuine source of information. Thank you. I have paid off all my student loans. I'm debt ...

Thanks Peachy!

Yes, the payment went through and I gazed at the 'Paid in Full' on my student loan account deadline. Pretty exciting but I think it'll be more fun once I have an entire paycheck to play around with!

I'm seriously battling the urge to online shop. Don't know what that is about!

Put in the last payment and it's processing...I won't believe it until I see the zeros on my account balance.

I already regret posting this on this board (or at least regret giving the details of the car) since there are so many people on here with serious financial issues who I'm sure don't want to hear my whining. I only posted because I thought I had some insight to share. I don't think you should regre...

That's awesome progress! Good for you! I know it seems like a slog now but from where I am standing, you are plugging away and making significant progress. If I may ask a personal question, how much are you actually sleeping? Maybe you need the sleep? I have the same tendency you do and I fall off a...

Well, I got paid and it was significantly less than what I was expecting, I think payroll made a mistake. I was hoping to pay this loan off and also throw some more into our emergency fund. But I had enough to mostly pay off the loan and completely pay off the loan if I used our savings. So that's w...

I don't own a house but my friend who just bought one signed up for Angie's List and she raves about it.
