How much debt are you talking about? You can always negotiate the debt if it is already in collections. You can probably save yourself some money in the long run.

You can do it nice on the cheap. I wouldn't go crazy on a wedding if you don't have the dough. You'll regret it later. The debt will put a strain on your marriage.

I never pay those things... just tell them you are going to switch to a new card or cancel if they don't waive it. That should work.

Debt consolidation doesn't reduce your debt only a debt negotiation program would do that.

Part of your credit history is tied to your open credit cards. I would keep them open even if you are not going to use them.
