5% with these rates? I would make sure it is a real FDIC insured CD 5% i would lock for 3-5 yrs prolly

Paying off a loan will improve your score as it reduces your debt load and obligations. I can imagine a legitimate scoring system that would punish you if you paid off your loan as soon as possible

Sorry to hear about your situation, but good to hear you have had an emergency fun! I guess you learned 2 lessons 1. Emergency Fund is important and you never know when you'll need it. 2. Having a debt sucks, specially on something like a car. Glad to see you are almost done with it, congrats!
