How about setting aside a certain percentage of your irregular income? Say 20%. You'll be saving something each time you get paid.

I splurge on clothes. However, I do shop sensibly for those clothes to make my dollar last longer. Translation: Sales, sales, sales! That's when I stock up.

Maybe some day I will buy myself a full-price Louis Vuitton duffel or suitcase. :D

I guess part of it is how you define "emergency fund". If you're talking about money that is strictly reserved for actual, alarms-ringing emergencies, then it's probably fine, unless your threat matrix includes "needing to bail someone out of jail" or something like that. (My co...

Since I work as an Accountant and go through reconciliations with a fine tooth comb, I am equally as diligent and careful regarding my checking account balance.
