Thank you so much for your replies. stannius, so you pretty much put all your health saving deposits into your credit union. What happens when you start depositing more into Health Equity? Can you withdraw from that account for medical expenses? 4happycaligirl, I have looked up HSA Administration an...

As a small time employer, if they do set up payroll deduction, either they will be paying out the nose, or their employees (your wife) will. Do you plan to use the account transactionally (to pay for expenses) or for long-term investing? Why will they be paying out the nose? If it is costly to setu...

My wife has recently been approved for a HDHP that works with a HSA.

I am an individual and am weighing my options with financial institutions.

Anyone on here have a HSA? What institution do you use? What is your experience?

Thanks for the advice and info!

ITGuy, Thanks for visiting the site. I know this thread is a little old but I hope you read my response. I would agree with some of the advice of others. First, I would talk with your wife about continuing the employment situation until you can get out of your housing situation and move closer to yo...

A couple of posters here have bought into the emotional argumentation without looking at the practical side of the matter. 12-20 million people live here illegally, how on earth does that happen? I'll tell you how, a colossal failure by our US Government to protect our borders. If the posters here a...

LOL! Kombat! I laughed so hard reading your initial post. I laughed because its true. I was that kid seven years ago. I bought the hardcore gaming Dell PC on credit. Dell promptly jacked my interest rates up to 20%. I paid $3,300 for the computer in 2002 and did not get it paid off until 2005. I pro...

The best way to protest (as already mentioned) is to close your account and tell them why. I don't really have a problem with banks charging an annual fee. The banks do have operational costs and there is only so much FREE, FREE, FREE that can be done. Citi committed a worse offense when they jacked...

For insured people, they don't care what the costs of the procedure is but what the co pay or otherwise out of pocket costs are. So why even mention it? Just a thought. Ben http://www.thriftyapp.com This right here is part of the problem. If 100,000 insured with one company goes to GP and pays $400...

I am amazed at how fast I lost track of expenses. This afternoon I checked my balance and have thirty four cents in my checking account. It's humbling. I knew the balance was getting low. Cash or better record keeping. I can't wing it. I had this same problem too and its easy to be off by a couple ...

see, everyone assumes that all the people who go to a casino loose money :P I played poker for years and over all I'm way up... It just depends on what you do at a casino and how good you are. Sure, slots/etc... you'll lose in the long run. Skill games like poker? Not if you're decent... And as I s...

System proposed isn't truly nation wide. It's more like a few cob webs around the major metro areas. So, just take out the nation wide part and the same question is asked. One question to ponder Cranky. If such a system were beneficial and potentially profitable then why do we not already have one ...
