I'd also love to see a published rebuttal to "Assessing the Costs and Benefits of Brokers in the Mutual. Fund Industry". I don't think anyone will refute that you can buy mutual funds yourself at a much better rate than going through a broker. Though you do need to remember there are a lo...

I mean viewing ending first was the best way. It gives every auction equal exposure and allows you to see when bargains are ending. Best match is just awful for many reasons.

Yeah I noticed the "Best Match" thing too lately, but I mostly buy on eBay and I always resort by either "ending soonest" or "price + shipping: low to high" While I feel this is the best way to view the auctions I have to wonder how much visibility some of them lose be...

One other thing that really bugs me about eBay lately is their new default search. Instead of showing results ending first it uses a "best-match" algorithm. I like the ending first as your item slowly moves up until its on the top. with best match you're item could potentially never even e...

I don't think David Byrne is going for delberate weirdness, I think he's just plain weird. I'm fairly certain that guy took a LOT of drugs back in his day.

Your comparing 45 mpg with 36 mpg? Personally, I believe I am seeing a more than a 9mpg increase over a standard Civic. I think it's more like 16. I averaged over a year 44mpg and I bet regular automatics are not averaging over 28mpg. At this rate, I would've broken even in a year. With the tax cre...

My company does not have direct deposit so I get a paper check.

As far the the bank goes, deposits made at the ATM can take up to 4 days to clear, deposits made to the teller will clear automatically. I want my money now so I go to the teller.

I'm sorry but there is NO WAY your numbers are correct. At 29 mpg it would take 345 gallons of gas to travel 10k miles at $3.50 per gallon it would cost $1206. You are basically telling us your Prius uses no gas. You assume 29 mpg is correct. A huge argument against hybrids is "no way you hit ...

Honda actually has a fuel cell station that runs on solar power. Otherwise they are working on a in home one that would convert natural gas to hydrogen while providing electricy and hot water for your house. I can only assume this would still cost you a lot less than paying for gas. It also take ene...

.... I just looked at the Honda site the difference in price between a base civic and the hybrid is $7,500. They even had a nifty calculator there to show gas savings. The ten year savings at $3.06 per gallon driving 15,000 miles per year between the base model and the hybrid....$2,550.00 I changed...

Step 5. THIS IS A BIG ONE... we have to encourage transport companies to start using trains versus trucks. FREIGHT that is a big winner. Public transportation is going to be hard to solve because of a multitude of reasons... BUT trains make a lot of sense for freight we have limited ports etc etc.....

So for the next few weeks I'm working 7pm-2am. My normal hours are 7am-3:30pm so its a pretty significant change in schedule. The good part is I'm getting time and a half for every hour. The paychecks should be nice. It was also nice to wake up and play with my daughter on a Monday morning. On to fi...
