I think both unemployment rate and consumer confidence are important indicators. Lower unemployment rate shows that businesses around the country is good and people has jobs to get their income. I think the same way too. I add my favorite blog RSS into Google Reader. So from time to time I just open my account and scan through the list of updates. Once I spotted a title that catch my attention, then I will click and read it. So how frequency bloggers update their blog doesn't affect me.

Personally I like this : Don't get fooled by earnings.

It means don't look at a company from outside / earnings but inside / account.
