It seemed to me that most of the comments were simply knee jerk anti religion rather than actually reading the post. I'm agnostic, but wasn't offended at all. First of all, I thought it was extremely clear that this was a guest post, and especially for subscribers, who knew guest posts were coming u...

To live within walking distance of campus during undergrad would have actually cost me $200 MORE a month. To live farther away would have necessitated a car and all the attendant expenses, as public transportation wasn't the best. (I did exactly that in grad school, since I already had the car.) Bi...

...a word of advice from a kid in college. Every time I've read financial advice regarding college, I hear the same words over and over again. Live on campus. Living in the dorms will save you thousands, even if they're not as glamorous as living in your own place. Maybe this is just my own individu...

Thanks for all the quick responses, guys :). See, this is one reason why I'm not a big fan of Ramsey. Not all debt is bad and by teaching people to get rid of it all, no matter what, he's not teaching good financial decision making just encouraging that people follow blindly even though there are be...

Some are federal, some are private. I don't have to actually make payments on any of them until 6 months after I graduate. I'm not bound to strictly following Dave's plan. I'm not in the same situation as a lot of the people he's talking about are. I'm fairly financially fit to begin with, and don't...

Hey everyone. So I've got an interesting problem to think about. First of all, let me preface this question by explaining my situation: 1. I'm 21 years old. I'm halfway through college. 2. I have no debt other than about $20,000 in student loans. For my last two years, I should add about another $20...

I know this is from early on in the thread, but... R.J Also, I realized that part of my problem is that I have a lot of comics that I've purchased but never read. What if I made a vow to not buy much new stuff until I'd read the old stuff. I could certainly make a deal that I don't buy a part 2 (or ...

I have Comcast. Basic Digital cable + internet comes to $82.27/mo.

Split between five roommates, and it's pretty cheap :).

My parents never really talked to me explicitly about money...yet somehow I remember (I was really young at the time) the day they cut up their credit cards. As I got older, bits of their financial history fit together in my head, and so while they haven't discussed it with me, I understand what the...

As someone who's recently got into biking, I've got a few comments :D First of all, I bike to work...however, I live 25 blocks away, so it's not quite as huge of a ride as I'm sure it is for a lot of you. Second, I primarily mountain bike, not road bike. If you don't know, there's a HUGE difference....
