Thanks for all of the replies. A few notes on some of your replies. The student loan debt we have is pretty safe and the rate ought not change. As far as I know, it shouldn't be affected with anything going on currently. If it does and the rate skyrockets because of some new law that changes our fix...

I'm a little surprised at the recommendations to pay off the student loan. If you were able to get a 1.625% loan from anyone spread out over 10 years, you wouldn't take it?
