Good idea but why would you sue the inspector. He (or she) can only note condition, not predict the future. If something is missed (didn't notice the leaky sink), what are your damages? It is unfortunate that litigious thinking like this drives up teh cost of things for everyone. If I hire a home i...

My employer stopped contributing to my 401k this year... so did I. Instead, I'm putting my money into an HSA (Health Savings Account) which I can use as an investement vehicle when the balance reaches $2,000. I'll have my HSA forever, and this was my only opportunity to invest in it. I guess now I'm...

I am trying to get out of ING. I can get the same rate they're offering and have instant access to my money (instead of the 2 day delay). Their rates just dont cut it anymore. If they go back up with their rates, I'll go back. But for now, they really stink! I am definitely NOT as satisfied as I was...

As far as finding a good home inspector, ask your friends and family who have purchased a home in the last year for a recommendation. If you dont get any leads there, ask your Realtor to provide 2 or 3 and call ALL of them. The cheapest one doesn't always mean the best... also, you want to receive a...

Realtors are professionals. Would you install electrical service yourself simply because you read a book or reviewed a website? No. As a Realtor, I can tell you that there are more pitfalls, laws, and legal reprecussions that we are all trained on how to handle, than you can even THINK about. Negoti...

The short answer is yes, you can delay paying your taxes (to a point) BUT, you'll pay a late fee/penalty. I'd try to pay it ontime to avoid a bigger expense and then budget (whatever your taxes are divided by 12) so you dont have to worry about having that money for next year. This is how I prepare ...

I'm hoping someone can give me some thoughts on trying to reduce clutter and all the while, my husband comes home with sometimes 3 copies of the same article, form, etc. I've tried to get him to either stop bringing them home, or to let me scan them and ditch the paper. He's not very computer savy, ...
