Understood, I look at rising interest rates as an overall threat to the market as a whole so on an overall basis I would consider that. But with the fed saying they will keep rates low into 2015 I think High Dividend Stocks and some REIT's and investments that BANK on high yield to attract investors...

I have a question for you Michael. You note the valuation (P/E) of the stock is lover than it was in May. Given that the reciprocal of P/E, E/P, is a measure of the yield on the stock, don't you think that the rapid change in interest rate since May supports the alternative theory that a lower P/E ...

Trying to address all of what was said. Taiwan Semi is now up almost 5% since I recommended it a few days ago so lets at least be fair here. My approach is fairly simple and similiar to value investing although I am not as indepth as the greats like Buffet and Graham, I am trying to learn. I use the...

Wow, I haven't been back here in a long time and see many people have posted all kinds of nasty things. Not sure what I did to insight such animosity. I understand I have been wrong with some of my posts, especially those short the market on my blog, thats what is tough with making predictions, you ...

I am trying to highlight getrichslowly type stocks here. We are doing research to find stocks with great valuations but don't expect these stocks to shoot higher overnight. If these stocks are intersting to you than great, if its not for you then understood. Nobody is forcing you to read anything. I...

The name of the site is getrichslowly so I thought it appropriate to highlight a slow moving blue chip stocks after they reported earnings last night in hopes it might help some of you make money. Mod edit: For the convenience of everyone, Vintek has been kind enough to post Michael's original comme...

Good Morning Everyone I know I haven't posted on here in a while. My calls of a top in the 1530 area were clearly not right. Its hard to know where the tops would be and I was far too aggressive in calling that. I should have waited for the signs to show themselves before making a post like that, I ...

You can read my post here and it is complete with pictures illustrating what I believe is likely to occur as stocks set up to sell off from here:

My post 2 days ago was that the uptrend in stocks on a short term basis had ended. The analysis has now shifted to an impending sell off due to the nature of the breakdown in fundamentals. I believe a sharp sell off will occur very soon at which point, once the selling has ended, an opportunity to b...

Hello friendly forum people Understood, and good points. Anytime you put recommendations in print you can always look like a fool. Doug Kass has, HS Dent has, its very difficult to predict the market in stone long term especially when you can't make quick changes to your posts as developments occur....

You can read my full post here: http://financeinlife.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-uptrend-in-stocks-has-ended.html What I am communicating is not that the market crashes from here or that we have an immediate sell off. Just that this uptrend is broken and I would not expect the market to reach highs any...

Brad The problem is most people use that as a cop-out, they hold losing stocks for years hoping these penny stocks go back up or these stocks fly back up, it doesn't happen. The actual truth is you lose money as soon as those shares lose value, even if you don't book the losses, the money is gone AN...

That post was written at 10:26 AM east coast time when the market was at 1526 before all of today's selling ensued. I am sure there will be other things to say, after all, Bichon hasn't responded yet. This approach works and yes people, it works over time as well. I am sure I will get some of those ...

I am an investment advisor that follows market timing, I know the vast majority of you will write awful stuff on here because I make a post like this but I don't want anything to get hit hard in this coming sell off. My models indicate a sell off is coming in this area. The same models that indicate...
