Great ideas, everyone! Regarding the much-debated sheet issue, count me in for bringing two sets of sheets. That way, when it's time to change them, you simply change them and don't have to worry about doing the laundry immediately. Also, bring shoes/clothing, haha! But...but...if you just change t...

Option 1 is the best option here. Just like what others have stated, incurring more debt is just out of the question. If you can't already pay what you loaned, why loan some more? Yes, you'll get to pay your previous loan, but you'll still have a loan to pay either way. And this time, it's even twic...

I know of someone who actually brought her child to school and she'd just place her in a stroller while she's handling classes. Employers are not required to allow employees to bring babies or children to work. But...

This is just from my own college experience, but I wouldn't put laptop/computer down as a need. Oh, it's a very nice want...everyone hates walking to the computer lab at midnight to finish that paper you forgot about. But, at least at my university, there were 1/2-dozen or more computer labs on cam...

I guess I need to wait a few more months until I am actually on faculty and have a better sense of the environment. Right now my mentors are all men, women without kids, and one non-tenure track woman with kids who seems content to stay in that position. I think that's the best option right now. An...
