I use Vanguard's Portfolio Watch to aggregate all of our investment information. It's sorta like a cross between Yodlee and Morningstar's Portfolio X-Ray, all rolled into one.

Brad, are you active in the Concept2 online community? For example, are you on a team?

I'm just reviving this thread to say that I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Concept2 Model E last week. It's on the UPS truck for delivery as we speak, and it should be sitting on the front porch when I get home from work today.

One of my favorite JD-isms is:

"Holy cow, http://www.fivecentnickel.com sure is an awesome site!"

This is amusing enough that I just removed the links but left the post alone. Care to disagree?

Note that the online version is *way* cheaper if you subscribe by the year rather than month-to-month. I think it's something like $25/year or $5/month. The latter is great if you just need to pop in and get a recommendation every once in awhile, but if you want regular access then you should defini...

By the way, this is the opposite problem, but probably far more devastating in the long run... Web host Dreamhost accidentally billed all of their customers for a year (and sometimes two) in advance. To the tune of $7.5 million! More here: http://blog.dreamhost.com/2008/01/15/um-whoops/ So don't fee...

Other than suggesting you call the bank, which you've done, I can't offer any help. I can sympathize, though, as I accidentally paid our credit card bill twice a month or so ago. I'm still not sure how I did it (just spaced out, I guess) but we ended up with a whopping credit. Fortunately, we had th...

dariaclone brough up a good term. If you're unwilling to look at it as joint networth, then consider it household networth. Same thing, different name, possibly more acceptable to those that insist on separate finances.

I guess it depends on your long term plans for the money. If Kris runs into financial problems, would you let her starve? (And vice versa.) When one of you dies, have you specified that your money goes to the other? Or will it go to someone else? If your answers to these questions are no (for starvi...

Since the market trends upward on average then, on average, you're better off putting your money in today as opposed to some later date.

Buy an ADT sign off eBay. It's about as useful, and far cheaper. This is what we did at our old house, though I must admit that our new house had an alarm system already installed and we ended up keeping the monitoring service.

I thought the money used to fund a Roth had to come from income? Since I haven't received any 2008 paychecks yet, am I allowed to max out my 2008 contribution now? I have enough money that I could do it, I'm just not sure if I'm allowed. It's not like you actually take physical dollars from cashing...

My wife has a Casio Exilim EX-S600 that I bought for her last Christmas (2006). We absolutely *love* it. Very small/pocketable, but it takes great pictures (and videos!). Casio tends to refresh their product line periodically, so I'm not sure what the current model #s are, but (imho) you can't go wr...
