We have discussed secured cards before, and they are an option should I (with my 636 score) not be approved for a traditional card. But since we're pretty sure my wife would be approved, I'm wondering if it would be better to apply jointly.

How much can I expect her and I's scores to improve by just paying off that loan? How will those two scores impact a mortgage rate we're offered in the next 3-5 years?
