The company bases the amount on a base salary of $60,000. They provide 50% for free and I can bump it up to 67% for $6.90 per pay period. My actual income is more like $80-85k with overtime. So their 67% is really closer to 50% of what I actually make. I suppose it's best to pay for the extra in thi...

I'm doing my open enrollment for benefits for 2016. My company provides $30,000 per year of long term disability for free. I can up that to $40,200 for $6.90 every two weeks. Since there is such a low probability that I would ever need this insurance, is it worth the extra money to increase the cove...

I like to read but want to cut back on the expense of buying books. For this reason, I have been reading more blogs lately. I can't seem to find an archives section for this blog, so I'm wondering if there is anyone that might have a link to the first post. I'd like to start from the beginning and r...

Just thinking about the future and wanted to throw it out there... You just moved into a new house about 4 months ago. You have a 30 year mortgage at 3.625%. There are no plans to move anytime soon, but you can definitely see moving up in house in about 15 years or so. Would you use extra money to p...

I have only found a couple of driving courses in my area, and they all seem to focus on giving the class that is required to get your drivers license. I'm talking about a 1 on 1 class that focuses on defensive driving and safety, not just learning what street signs mean and how to pass the license t...

Parent or grandparents of newly licensed children.... do you think you would be interested in paying for a driving course that focused on safety and defensive driving for your newly licensed youngster? I spend a lot of time on the road and notice that there are way more bad drivers out there than go...

I am building a new house in a subdivision. Is it necessary for me to pay $1000 for an owners title insurance policy?

This is one of my favorite forums to check in on. But I can't b the only one that only gets on with my smart phone, right? It would be great if there was an app for the forum. Another forum I check out has one and it's so much easier to browse around. Has there been any talks of an app being develop...
