Hello. I've been reading GRS for a long time and have finally decided to join this forum since there are so many great posts here. First my intro:

Well, I'm 30 and unemployed. Just another of the 14.5 million unemployed people struggling in this recession. I have had the distinct pleasure of serving my country in the Air Force, then of climbing my way to a six figure salary in the corporate world, and finally of receiving the phone call that ended said corporate job. I began writing as a method of coping with my job loss and as a way to use some of my newly acquired free time. The pages kept filling up and I changed my goal and ended up with $100K to Nothing - Layoff: My journey from a six figure income to the unemployment line in the worst economy of our time, which you can read more about on http://www.100ktonothing.com/ or http://www.amazon.com/dp/1442193166?tag=100tonot-20&camp=14573&creative=327641&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=1442193166&adid=1K08FGV8MYKHHPCNWB7S&.

Now for the other project I am requesting your help on:

In addition to my newly published book, I have started http://www.laidoffintheusa.com to continue to share my stories and comment on progress made and lost related to unemployment. I am looking for others who have been laid off to share their stories. Unfortunately, I cannot pay for these stories at this time as I have no money to spare. I can, however, link to your website. If you have a story you'd like to share about your layoff, please email me at dan{at}laidoffintheusa{dot}com. Send a short summary, then I'll interview you via email. Thanks.

Hello! I would love to participate. I'm getting ready to email you now. I was also laid off & have started writing to deal with it. I have recently started back to work and interestingly enough, I have mixed feelings about it although I know I should consider myself fortunate to have a job. Look forward to talking with you!

Caitlin

Hi!
Good luck on gathering stories; in this economy you should have no lack of them! Unfortunately I live in Canada, or I'd be more than happy to participate.

I started reading GRS some time ago as well -- but not until I was laid off, alas. So now I am just working on keeping within my newly-drastically-reduced budget.

neat concept. have you thought of a way to monetize this or are you doing it for other reasons?
