Hardwood floor is pretty much standard in Sweden, at least in the living room. Wood is in many aspects a magical material. CO2 neutral fuel, furniture, paper - and a hose made of logs manages the climate of Canada/nordics without further isolation. A decent fireplace is required. Non isolated loghomes is wood all over the place, but they are not that common to build in Sweden any more.
This is a picture for a show, made by two swedish comedians. It is called "white and fresh" and tells the story of modern, swedish interior decorating. Interior decoating is a national fixation. Observe though - genuine wooden floors even if they are painted white.
