Well Christmas is over so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any New Year's Resolutions you'd like to share? I'm thinking particularly the non-financial ones, since I think that's been covered in another thread. Also I'm curious how you intend to accomplish them. I tend to make a yearly list of resolutions, and find smaller monthly goals that move me to that end. For instance these are my New Years Resolutions:

Physical: Lose 30 lbs.
Financial: Save 20%+, 60k in retirement savings
Mental: Read 20 books
Professional: Obtain at least one more professional certification
Emotional: Develop a more "even keeled" attitude (as judged by Boyfriend)

and my goals for January:
Get to the gym 3+ times a week
Increase 401k to 15%, contribute $200 to my Roth, reassess expenses
Read 2 books (1 as prep for a certification exam)
Take 10 minutes each day to meditate

Anyone else care to share?

I only have two goals at the moment. (Well, I have several others, but these are the two major goals.)

1. Lose 40 pounds, which entails a whole lot of other changes to my physical lifestyle.
2. Save $20,000 cash, which entails a whole lot of other financial accomplishments.

Saving that $20,000 is my top priority for 2008. I feel that if I can do that, I can set myself up for a long stretch at writing, even if I don't bring in much income. I need to get that safety net established first, though. There are a lot of other things that need to happen before I can reach that goal, but I'm sure going to aim for it. (A more realistic goal is to save $10,000...)
