Anyone has their PMP certification? Was it worth it to you? I recently got promoted to be apart of the team that will be designing the new system my Agency will be creating. The information is alot to take in but its pretty interesting stuff. I'd like to get your take and experiences on this.

I have my PMP certification... and you're right, it's a lot of work to get. To be honest, whether or not it is worth it for you depends a lot on the position you're going for. Some employers put a lot of emphasis on it, and some could care less. I would recommend that you vet this out before commiting the time and energy to go for your certification. I also recommend that you look not only at your current employer, but also potential companies you may leave for as well.

Good luck!

That's the thing I am just looking at the iceberg....haven't even gotten to the tip yet.

I will be working as a "sme" for my Agency. I don't think I want to work for the state for my whole life. After I get this experience if I really like it I may change track and go the IT route but more specifically project management. Its an idea I guess. I don't even know the other paths available to me. More research for now.
