Hello Portland, OR

Postby morydd » Tue Jul 24, 2007 7:41 pm

We'll be flying into Portland sometime on Thursday. We're scheduled to arrive around 11, but we're flying standby so may come in later. My dad and his wife are arriving around 4, so we'll probably have some time to kill. Anyone able to recommend anything in the general area of the airport that will be good to eat up a little time. We'll have a rental car, so our range is decent. We'll probably be looking for lunch, and some time wasting. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome! :-)

Well, I'm not too familiar with the airport area. However, as you take the escalator down to baggage claim there's an info desk and I've found the people there to be very helpful.

You may want to check this out. Not sure how close it is but I see signs for it every time I'm near the airport. http://www.thegrotto.org/

Have fun and if you have time while you're in town it'd be fun to grab a drink. :-)

Well, the brand new IKEA is right there by the airport...

Sadly, IKEA may be the place to go. Cheap food, and we can pick up some small kitchen stuff for the gift we're giving.
