Recollapse!!!!

Postby fantasma » Mon Mar 04, 2013 3:48 am

Is the housing market going to collapse again?

I am asking becuase I am getting around the idea in my head to be either a condo or single family home owner.

I look to this website for guidance.

The whole get a mortgage pre-approval and all that stuff or a book I should read before my mind is set.

I live in north Florida not sure if it matters. Perhaps if I can get pin pointed to what to read and educate myself about my town.

I wish I knew myself.

But, if you buy a home you can afford and will keep you satisfied long term, I don't see how you could lose.

I am looking at a condo with low HOA fees and safe neighborhood.

Unless I see a single family cottage that is amazing. Still not sure; I am more than likely to get my best option available.

What is the history of your local housing market like? Even during the big collapse our local housing market barely budged because we get a lot of second home owners from a big city a few hours away.

Quite frankly I have no idea. I dont even know how to find such data.

A coworker was telling me about a program which helps you with the down payment for instance;

I have 10% on my own and the program gives me another 10% to go towards the down payment.

I dont even know whether it is public assistance or not.

Typically those programs are funded by "donations" from sellers.

Interesting...I am not eligible for them anyway. My "income" is too high.
