So april 27th, on my way home, a woman runs a red light and I t-bone her on my Kawasaki Ninja.

I come to several hours later with a stitched up face, broken nose n right wrist... and nothing else wrong with me.

My bike is totaled.

The moron was arrested 24 hours later for hit n run leaving the scene w/ injuries. :( She has no insurance.

It an odd thing to acknowledge I ought to be dead. It is an odder thing to be alive... ?????

n yes I still want to ride. I will replace it when the insurance folks get done writing me my check.

Of course you still want to ride!!
I'm so sorry about your accident. I think there are a lot of people in FL without insurance, right? It seems that it is very common in that state for some reason.

I'm glad you're still around to tell us about your accident. Heal quickly. The season has just started. :D

tnx peachy. It sure does seem like no one has insurance in this silly state.

GEICO is meeting me tomorrow with the check. GO GEICO!

But I think I'm gonna put the $$ in da bank til the medical expenses stop coming in.

If I have any left over after I'll consider a bike.

Ouch, sounds painful
Like Peachy said, heal quickly! (and you will, because you eat home grown vegetables).

What bike are you getting next? :D
Sportbike, dualsport, offroad, touring, chopper, custom, scrambler, classic?

Rattus Norvegicus thanx 4 da good wishes.

I'm just a simple country girl n I only want back what I just lost.
A Kawasaki Ninja. 500 preferably but I'd even take a 250 again.
Still miss my ZRX-1100 but post-divorce I couldn't get it in the truck alone so I downsized.

:(

I don't think I'm going to be able to replace it cause my medical deductible is max 3500 n I suspect
2 nights in da hospital is gonna require that. So no money left over....

As I told a friend:
"I think someone just beat me up and stole my bike.
Wasn't that supposed to stop after childhood?"

Well my financial responsiblity for the accident that I didn't cause is going to be 1998.56.

This just doesn't seem fair to me. I'm out my motorcycle, my money, my face and my unbroken right arm bone
and that stupid woman is chillin on her porch. Grrrrrrrrrr................

Oh man... I just got a magnificent phone call from GEICO.

I DID have uninsured motorist coverage on my bike.
I thought I did and was confused when they said I didn't.
But I thought I was just confused from landing on my head in a accident.
Heh. Apparently I was... :)

$10,000 check coming at me after they finish verifying the at-fault parties lack of insurance.

YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!! That $3500 deductible on my medical was going to wipe out
my emergency funds. Whew!!!!! So that plus the $2200 I have on hand from gift money
plus the GEICO check of $1750 for my bike brings my cash from this accident up to $12,200.

If all goes according to my very lame plans I'll pay off the hospitals, and then
settle my tax bill and also pay off all the credit debt left from my brother's funeral last year.

That'll leave me roughly $2900 with which I COULD buy a motorcycle.
I'll worry about that when I get there.

But yay for my past-self's decisions.
Spending an extra $25 on my policy back in January netted me 10,000 today.
