..thanks to one of my mentors, I have decided to explore Twitter. It is a powerful tool, and a lot of fun to use. I don't know how to monetize it, and I am glad that Twitter itself has not blatantly gone monetary...so far.

Users are highly motivated to use it for monetary gain, based on what I've seen.

Friend #1 is going through a downsizing in his company. He is the only salesman in the company, but his love is in the lab, not in the customer's premises.

Friend #2 is going to be laid off next month. He hopes to make up for the lost revenue by being an assistant doing construction.

Friend #3 is going through early fatherhood. Life seems ok for him.

I admitted the retail environment challenges, but I couched it in terms that I am currently researching new opportunities. One thing that has helped me is my renewed focus on investments. If I can live on a passive income stream of dividends, I would be satisfied with that.

..using Valueline.com as a starting point. Stocks still look a little expensive to be buying right now.

..first time for me. Was nervous and finally overcame the butterflies and just did it in 10 minutes.

Now I have to wait for them to approve the article.

Why does the first time for anything always feels so queasy? Because I am stepping outside my comfort zone. Is it wrong? No, it's so very right! I am proud that I am doing new things every day.

my dividend paying stocks were down only 1% (wte.un) and 1.87% (je.un).

The power of dividend paying stocks is less volatility especially in down markets. Besides, I am being paid to wait. I will keep a 5 year minimum time horizon on dividend paying stocks, because the yields are attractive.

My goal of expansion, to a 4th store, has been abandoned.

The new goal in light of a change of heart was to close the retail store business.

I arranged with 2 associates to take over this summer.

The sadness is there, but the relief is also there.

..feeling very relieved and good about this decision. Immediately spoke with my staff about the coming end and got commitment to help until end of lease.

I checked Google Adsense after a long departure from looking at it. Now there is money in the account. Sure it is not much but it's a new income source. Celebrate Good Times C'mon!
