Hello everyone, I've been reading for awhile and now I'm setting some goals.
For 2012 my goals are:

1) Roth IRA - $5000
2) HSA - $3100
3) Emergency fund - $1400
4) Car savings - $4000

I've already made some progress for January:

1) Roth - 600/5000
2) HSA - 1000/3100
3) E-fund - 100/1400
4) Car - 0/4000

I'm on track so far :)

Hi Mike,

Great on the goal setting!

What I noticed is that your goal is to save 14k, and in jan you've already paid of 1700.

If you'd be able to keep up the 1700 you could save over 20k. I wonder where the difference is? Obviously you're under no obligation to save the maximum, I'm just wondering.

Hey Sonja,
My goal is actually to save 50% of my income ($13500) There was a typo in the E-fund goal, which I noticed thanks to your reply. This is really a stretch goal for me already, but I think I can do it.
My January savings include Christmas money so it's put me a little ahead. Also my job just added a SIMPLE IRA with matching 3% of my salary so I might re-work my goals to include that in my 13500 total.
