That sucks. I'm sorry. Hope the wounds heal quickly.

I don't know what's going on, but the last post I see of yours is that your audit went bad. It says that it's updated, but I can't see it. I'm thinking that maybe if I post, I can see what you wrote.

***this is a test***

Well, I didn't necessarily have to post, but I see it when I am on this screen ABOUT to post. If I scroll down I see it-sometimes.

The site seems buggy, I did post my 2/28 numbers but there are not appearing on screen unless I hit reply. Not sure what is going on.

8) Will I ever get to save like you?

What happened with the audit? I know you stated it went bad but did you try to file an appeal?

I plan to post all the details at a certain point. Right now I'm in denial and trying not to let the whole situation bring me down. We've provided the IRS with more info and we are waiting to hear from them, we've agree to pay certain monies for one year but have not yet paid it. I really didn't want to pay any money untill the whole situation was resolved but not sure if we'll have a choice in that.

Thanks for reposting your numbers. I don't know what was going on with your thread.

My dad/parents are getting audited, and they keep looking and looking for stuff. I guess they will keep looking until they find something, even though my dad already told the lady to let him know specifically what she wanted, and he would tell her/show her what she needed, but she's taking the arduous route.

Good job on your savings. You and Mr. Sam are great goal setters and achievers. :)

We were told, by our CPA and others in the know, that once the IRS starts the audit process, they keep looking until they get some money out of you. So far this has been true for us, our audit started on one topic/issue which was resolved and then they moved onto another topic/issue and we've decided to give up on part and pay them so they'll be getting some money out of us. We continue to fight on another issue so we'll see.

It is depressing and while we keep saving away there is a chance that we'll have to pay a hefty chunk of our e/r fund over to Uncle Sam.

Some good news, Mr. Sam received a 3% raise at work which will kick in in May. He also received a $10,000 bonus which we will likely save in our emergency fund until we get a ruling from the IRS.

That's awesome I needed to hear some good news this morning. I haven't had a raise in years, unless I got a promotion.

Uptick in progress due to Mr. Sam's bonus, 401k deductions applied to bonus so he is well ahead on his contributions for the year. We are about $2,900 ahead on our 2010 savings goals.
