Just reporting a minor success.

My student loans are now completely paid for. I am now personally debt free(minus mortgage), but my wife still has her own student loans, plus her car loan.

We figure her car should be paid in about 8-9 months. Her student loans are still pretty high, and will take a little longer to get rid of.

Pretty amazing when I read that first post. Its been about 3 years. In that time...

Paid off two cars.
Paid off student loans.
Saved about $15K in the emergency fund.
Saved another $5K in an investment account that has no specific purpose.
Saved over $50K in retirement accounts.
I've gotten married.
I have a child.
I bought a house.
My neighbor's house blew apart in the middle of the night(and still isnt rebuilt).

Its been an exciting time!
