you should have seen me on my motorcycle on the Highway yesterday, screaming off the top of my lungs.
I'M DEBT FREEEEEEEEEEE!, I was fully aware that I might bruise a vocal chord or 2, but I figured an ex-car payment should take care of that bill. but I'm OK
I even did it again , this time in harmony with my wife in HER car.

Congratulations!!!! 8)

When my debt (besides my mortgage) was paid off and my emergency fund could be rated by how long it would support me in months as versus hours, I began to take a very different look at life and the world around me.

No longer do I only plan my future for the next paycheck cycle or for the next month. I am now free to envision where I will be a six months from now (when the emegency fund is complete), three years from now (when I can free myself from my mortgage) and five or six years from now (where I should have enough in savings to become a contractor full time, work a few months at a time and choose where I want to live and when).

Getting that weight off your shoulders cetainly can improve your "vision".

That’s fantastic. It’s great to hear good news stories like that. I wouldn't say that I am very much in debt or rather I would say my debt is manageable but it must feel great to be able to say that you don't owe anything to anyone. I have a mortgage and I have a few other debts also and I can't wait for that day that I can get rid of them like you and get that same feeling of euphoria. I think I can live with paying just the mortgage. I really want to kick those credit cards out of my life firstly. Then I need to pay off the auto-loan. Even that would be an achievement.
