For those not familiar, www.restaurant.com is a Web site where you can purchase gift certificates to local restaurants at a 60% discount and has been mentioned in these forums before. You have to read the terms carefully because restrictions and conditions do apply and often vary by restaurant. But it is still a great way to save a few bucks if you visit some of the participating restaurants anyway.

Well, through tomorrow (12/21), they have a coupon code: SANTA, to get an additional 80% off. I just bought a $25 dollar gift certificate for $2. At the restaurant I got it for, the tab must hit $35 before tax and tip to use it, but it beats any coupon I've ever seen for that same restaurant.

Just to be clear, I have no affiliation with Restaurant.com; I just thought this was worth sharing.

I wish they worked with some of the better restaurants in our area, they always seem to be running these types of deals.

Looks like they're also throwing in a $25 dining voucher for purchases over $11. Don't know if this is before or after the 80%.

I took advantage of the 50% off plus $10 bonus gift card. I hope the bonus gift card can be used where I want. I will let you guys know how it goes. There are tons of restaurants around here on the site so I may be using it a lot.

I recently learned that if you access restaurant.com through a co-branded site with Coupon Cabin (there are probably others like it), you always get an extra 50% off. That link is:

It's best to think of the restaurant.com gift certificates like coupons because of the restrictions and terms. Some restaurants will be a better deal than others after your read all the terms.

Nice. I will check that out! I used my $25 coupon tonight. Cant say if it worked or not, the waitress lost it so they had to do it by hand. Still a really good value and I have found a new place I like to eat. Mmm spanish tapas. I will be going back for sure.

So I want to buy a gift certificate from restaurant.com but I am a little confused on the fine print. It says a minimum $35 food purchase, but I am planning on going with my boyfriend and I am sure we will spend more than that on food, if I buy the $100 gc, will I be totally covered and only expected to pay for the tip?

How I can make restaurant quality sandwiches and salads at home??
Lets, get one thing straight before everyone accuses me of being a bad cook, I am a very good cook when it comes to meals that come with a recipe or that are already in my head. But I would love to make restaurant quality sandwiches and salads.You know what I mean when I make a sandwich or salad at home it doesn't taste as good as it does as certain restaurants. Someone help... I'm sure this sounds weird to some of you but I would love to make good deli-like sandwiches and restaurant-like salads at home.
