Quiet folder!

Postby consultantjournal » Tue Mar 20, 2012 11:56 am

I noticed there isn't much activity in this folder. How sad! I suspect many of us reach out to other members of our community.

I run a blog on starting and running a consulting business. As part of this, I use a portion of proceeds to sponsor entrepreneurs in lesser developed countries - I recently made a Kiva loan to some entrepreneurs in Uganda. On my blog, I also try to post about starting a business in the least risky ways possible. I really don't want to see people bet their home on any business venture and I think it's good to test the waters before moving forward, if you don't have much money behind you.

What are the rest of you up to?

Here in Montréal, Concordia University has something they call the "University of the Streets" where people gather in cafés to discuss topics of interest -- they've had several meetings to discuss topics in personal finance over the past couple of years.

Here's a link to their site (this semester's topics only occasionally touch on finance, but it gives you a flavor):
