How much do you pay for your Internet/Cable services? What kind of package do you use?
Just curious if our payment is pretty average. Thanks

Too much, approximately $150 a month for landline, internet and cable.

I've been trying to convince W to cut the cable, and move to Hulu, netflix and ala carte services such as Amazon on Demand. I haven't quite convinced her yet.

Our package is 140/month, which includes DVR fee. We dont have a landline, this is just Internet/Cable. We have Optimum, which used to be Bresnan Communications

I pay $40 a month for cable internet (12 mbps) only. We don't have cable nor do we have a landline. We use cell phones/free VOIP and netflix, hulu, free-online media for our TV needs.

Don't be afraid to call your ISP every 6 months or so and ask for better pricing. I have multiple providers in my area and I'm not afraid to switch if my current ISP won't improve their rates for me. :)

About $150 total for directv, landline phone and internet. Have looked at cutting the landline but it is really cheap since it is regulated. If we dropped it our total would barely change. Considering dropping Directv but so far the things we watch are not conveniently available elsewhere...but maybe in a few months.

$59 total for internet and land line. The internet is only 1.5Mbps which is painfully slow, but we live in some kind of internet cabling dead zone so that's the fastest we can get (short of moving to a different address).

Well, I canceled my cable when the NBA season ended and it was apparent they werent going to be playing again for awhile(labor dispute).

When I had it, it was about $100 for cable tv and high speed internet.

Now I pay about $50 for high speed internet.

No landline.

I have DSL through a landline that cost $39.
I don't watch enough tv to buy cable, so I use Netflix and the previous owners of my house had basic cable, so I get by with that.

So you still have basic and aren't being charged for it?

No comment.

Actually, I had all the channels (minus movie channels) until everything went digital, and I guess that change bumped me to basic (HSN, Cspan, CSpan2, some Chicago station, and a few others along with network). The two channels I really miss are Bravo and A&E.

What do you use for your streaming? I've been looking into Hulu plus and Amazon on Demand, and think I could get most of what I want through those, but if there are other services out there, I'd be interested in exploring them.

The thing I would miss the most about cutting cable is baseball, but I imagine I could stream that too.
