It's total nonsense. The fact is, the human race is obviously not under threat of extinction due to underpopulation. We have far, far too many people.
If someday, several generations from now, the population dwindled, then yes "reproducing to avoid the demise of the human race" might be a valid reason to have kids. But in the context of reality, and the current demographics, it's utter nonsense.

3) Suggesting that your children might one day be there to prevent their mentally feeble parents from being taken advantage of (not that this is a REASON to have children, but that it is a possible ADVANTAGE) makes you horrible and selfish.
It also makes you naive, as I suspect the majority of senior exploitation is done
by one's own children. I would say having kids
increases your risk of having an unscrupulous individual perfectly positioned to take financial advantage of you. Having known you their whole life, they'd also be uniquely able to detect the moment your mind starts slipping and you'd become vulnerable to their manipulation.
It's like keeping a gun in the house for "protection," but ignoring the statistics that of those that end up being used, the vast majority end up being used against the owner themselves (suicide), or another family member (domestic violence).
