I'm about to pull my annual credit report, and was wondering if anyone had advice/preference on where to obtain it. I vaguely recall that there are some that will give you the free 3-agency report, but require you to pay to see your FICO score. My credit union points me to annualcreditreport.com, but is there a better one to go through?

Yep, you gotta pay for the score & your credit union gave you correct info on where to go.

Hi iDude

I used to use freecreditscore - however they charged $14.95 a month and gave me only my Experian score and nothing else every month updated

However - Lately I have gone through all my monthly bills and cancelled freecreditscore and replaced it with something TRULY free.. i use creditkarma now

The only problem with them is they only give you ONE score - your transunion - but they are 100% free which I really like plus they give you other scores like your autoinsurance score and vantagescore - i'm not really sure how much those matter but its interesting to see

I dont think there is any site out there that really gives you all 3 scores free but hopefully creditkarma can help you some

thanks

Loren

Just got the reports. Everything is clean, nothing unexpected, except...

Equifax lists the following, in the Account Age section (cutnpasted, other than ***s):

Length of Credit History 1 Years, 9 Months
Average Account Age 10 Year
Oldest Account ****** VISA C (Opened 10/10/2)
Most Recent Account ******* CU (Opened 89/09/1)

They seem to have it backward, that CU was opened 23 years ago, and the "VISA C" was opened just under two years ago, so Oldest and Most Recent are backward. I hope they're not actually reporting my Length of Credit History as 2 years given I've had a credit card for 23 years...

Paying for your score is a complete waste of money. It can change dramatically from one day to the next depending on your behavior.
