Free financial planning (or...Your Tax Dollars at Work)

Postby DoingHomework » Tue Oct 02, 2012 11:30 am

This from an official US government mailing:

During the month of October, professional financial planners will provide free advice at special Financial Planning Day events in several cities across the country. Bring whatever financial questions you might have, and invite your friends and family to attend.

Even if you can't attend an event, you can access free financial publications online.

While there might be some cost to the government, the online posting specifically states:

"This all-volunteer group of planners is partnering with city governments to offer no-strings-attached financial advice without selling their services or handing out business cards. "

Right. I posted that because it seems like a good thing!
