Hurricane Sandy is a greedy witch!

Postby Cactus » Wed Oct 31, 2012 2:29 pm

Well, there goes my anniversary trip! My better half and I saved up for a nice vacation to celebrate 20 years together, but Sandy decided to destroy our shed and patio with three flying pine trees. Our standard emergency fund won't cut it, so there goes the vacation fund.

What got wrecked at your place, and what will it cost you? Commiserate with me. :@

Didn't you have insurance?

Where are you?

Yeah, homeowner's insurance should cover that unless you have a really high deductible.

Ouch, that hurts. I'm really glad that neither of you was injured though!

My sump pump has been working overtime, and there's no more water in the "hole", so I think it's time to replace it.

Other than that, I didn't lose power, and all is well. I would call your insurance and if you don't have to replace the patio JUST YET, I would still go on vacation and wait for the insurance check. You deserve the vacation.

No Power for my family in NJ until NOVEMBER 5th... Sandy definitely did a number on this area of the country. I wish the best for those who have been seriously hit by this storm.
